The 2022 Oregon Bach Festival, themed A Celebration of Voice, spotlighted Bach’s most powerful choral works alongside bold new premieres—all staged at the Hult Center in Eugene, Oregon. I was brought on to illustrate a poster that captured the energy and emotion of the human voice at the heart of it all.
While sketching, I leaned into the idea of many voices uniting to form something singular—whether by illustrating a shared, collective voice or by arranging choir figures that fit together like puzzle pieces.
Since this was a summer event, I leaned into warm, sherbet-inspired hues—echoing both the season and the woven textures of the Hult Center’s auditorium, which appears in the background. I also adjusted the figures to face the same direction, reinforcing a sense of unity and shared purpose.
